Fifth Annual First Lady NOG OFF

Tulsa Arts District Announces Winners of Fifth Annual First Lady Nog Off

THANK YOU to the sponsors, patrons and contestants who contributed to the success of the Fifth Annual First Lady NOG OGG of 2017. This year,  NOG OFF raised over $5,000 for the Art Department of Emerson Elementary School. Through our sponsors' and patrons' generosity, Emerson will be able to provide more opportunities for their students to experience The ARTS.

This year, the contest was expanded to include Glogg or mulled wines.  In fact this year's winners were from both the mulled wine and egg nog categories.  Congratulations to Chase Cline from The TAVERN for winning the Juried Award with egg nog and Aaron Post of Valkyrie for securing the Popular Award with his mulled wine.

Tulsa District Business Association will host the Sixth Annual First Lady of Brady Nog Off on Sunday, November 25, 2018. All proceeds from the First Lady Nog Off will benefit the Art Department of Emerson Elementary School, which is located just north of downtown Tulsa.

Advance purchase is required.  Up to 19 businesses could be competing for the titles!!!!

Teachers and administrators at Emerson provide unique learning opportunities for students to succeed in the future, offering students many real-world connections and experiences in the Arts and a focus on STEM Projects (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math.)

"Emerson Elementary is a proud community school that has celebrated over 100 years in service to our community. Our students are striving toward excellence. They are meeting life's challenges by focusing on character, teamwork and creativity.” said Kristi Bradley, President of Emerson’s PTA. “The students are excited about special opportunities in various forms of the arts. The Brady Arts District Business Association is helping make that possible through the First Lady Nog-Off.”

“All Tulsa Public Schools have experienced funding reductions. The various Arts programs tend to be some of the first affected. This includes both Performing and Visual Arts. In The Tulsa Arts District, we realize the daily influence The Arts have had on our successes. We believe in the power of The Arts to lift a person’s spirit and give them a meaning and drive in their life. For many of our individual business owners, the artistic opportunities provided them in their early years supplied the inspiration for a lifetime of personal and career satisfaction.” said Bob Fleischman, President of the Tulsa Arts District Business Association.

This year will feature two events. Starting at 5 p.m., a Sponsors’ Reception will be held.  This preliminary event will allow the Sponsors and their guests an opportunity to engage with Emerson staff and PTA members. For this special reception, there will be live entertainment, commemorative ornaments, hors d'oeuvres, early access to the contestant nogs with tickets to the NOG OFF.

Like previous years, the Egg Nog Contest – NOG OFF – will be the MAIN EVENT. The First Lady Nog Off is a competition for the bars and restaurants in Tulsa Arts District to showcase their own take on egg nog recipes, which will be judged by local celebrity judges and all attendees. This year, GLOGG has been added to the competition.  Gloog is a spiced or mulled wine. There are two travelling trophies awarded - a Juried Award and Popular Award.  The MAIN EVENT will begin at approximately 6:15 pm, immediately following the Glow on the Green tree lighting festivities at Guthrie Green.
